Job Description
As we continue to grow we’re looking to add to our team. Calypso is seeking rock star candidates for a Public Relations Account Manager position. If you’ve been there and done that (with a smile on your face) we’d like to talk with you.
Here’s the nuts and bolts:
The perfect candidate will manage client relationships, develop and implement integrated print and online public relations strategies, conduct media relations, and perform day-to-day activities in order to complete communication initiatives.
This mid-level position will work with the Senior Director of Strategic Communications to develop and implement effective plans and tactics that utilize all appropriate communications vehicles to meet objectives and client service expectations.
Specifically, duties include but are not limited to: account management and reporting; conducting market research; writing for blogs/social networks; writing press releases and other promotional materials; pitching stories to the media (print and online) and maintaining productive media relationships, fielding media calls and monitoring press coverage; and planning special events, such as analyst tours, press conferences, and media briefings. Position Requirements
In addition to Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in the field of Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or similar, the ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5-7 years related experience working in a public relations capacity–a combination of agency and corporate experience is preferred; excellent written (for both print and online mediums) and verbal communication skills; knowledge and experience with social networking and all on and off-line public relations tools and tactics; and proven strategic planning and execution of a comprehensive range of media and public relations campaigns.

Intern Program
We are very proud of our intern program which is designed to be extremely hands-on and very interactive. Our interns assist the team in all aspects of the Company’s core competencies including but not limited to public affairs programs, design, customer-focused marketing programs, grass roots campaigns, account management support as well as account reporting, media relations, copywriting, and market research.
A Calypso intern can expect to participate in everything from presentation preparation to brainstorming sessions to client meetings.
